EDD FINCHAM *** (4.5 mm) HC (Ex.) 1985  We are re-introducing this light maroon in response to demand and on account of its perfume, stronger than that of other maroons. (Introduced by Dobies) (Colour group 5).

EVELEENA *** CofM 2004 Salmon cream-pink, and earlier than most. (Colour group 11a).

FIRST FLAME *** Double AGM 2002  First Flame is a first class decorator, with a wonderful salmon cerise colour. (Introduced by E W King & Co Ltd, 2005) (Listed colour group 14 but could be group 13).

FLORENCECOURT ** (4.5 mm) AGM 1999; AM and Harriss Award 1999; CofM 1998; Bronze. Florencecourt has a big white eye, great texture and consistently good placement, without losing the impact of its gorgeous salmon-cerise colour. Due to an unfortunate mistake that still eludes explanation, one stock (of colour group 3) released under this name bears little resemblance to the true variety. Exhibitors and decorators are assured that our own stock – the first grown for us in New Zealand – is good and true, having been tested on the Isle of Wight as well as in Ireland.

GLASNEVIN (5 mm) *** (5 mm) FCC 2004; Preliminary Commendation (PC) 2005.

Glasnevin is a full exhibition quality white sweet pea, having long stems in fine proportion with a well-placed head of four florets that are hardly ever malformed. Class-winning exhibits, 2008. (Colour group 1).

HEAVEN SCENT  *** (5 mm) FCC 2004.

Cited as “a light pink and cream with a rich perfume”, this is a sweeter Sweet Pea than you’ve ever known before, and challenges Castlewellan for vigour.  (Colour group 11).

LAUREN LANDY *** (4.5 mm) PC 2007; CoM 2007. (Likely colour group 10b).

MARK HARROD  * (5 mm) CoM 2006

Bold as brass, strong as its keep-fit namesake, and bright as a guardsman’s tunic, Mark Harrod is the best shape in scarlet today, thanks to its inheritance from Mrs Bernard Jones. (Colour group 3a).

POCAHONTAS *** (4.5 mm) AGM 1996 & 2006

A bright geranium red colour, one of our favourites when growing under glass for cut flower, but revels in full sunshine too. Has more scent than is usual in this colour, and makes a very attractive sight.  (Colour group 3).

ROUBEENA * (5 mm) Ruby red, with a branchy habit. (Likely colour group 3b).

ROWALLANE  *** (4.5 mm) AGM 2001; Silver Award for Decoration 2001. The glowing salmon pink in Rowallane is a little softer than in Valerie Harrod: a branchy plant that keeps on flowering. After re-selection, the flower formation of our stock is now restored and growers need not fear any significant malformation.

(Introduced as Jewel by Unwins Seeds, 2005) (Listed in colour group 3, but we would say group 11a).

TARA *** (4.5 mm) AGM 2001 & 2003; Bronze Award for Decoration, 1999. The standard petals are almond pink, but in sunny weather the wings carry a heavy flush of crimson.  The net effect is almost that of a bicolour.  Tara blends very well with other colours. (Introduced by E W King & Co Ltd) (Listed colour group 14 but varies with weather).

VALERIE HARROD *** (4.5 mm) AGM 2001; FCC, 1996. This is actually a strong salmon pink on a rich cream ground, included in many winning exhibits over recent years. (Introduced by Kerton Sweet Peas) (Colour group 13).

ZILLAH HARROD  *** (5 mm) FCC 2004; PC 2004 & 5. Understated in the citation as “a beautiful lavender”, this one develops its wonderful frill without needing to be well fed, and has a smooth, even coloration.

(Introduced by Kerton Sweet Peas) (Colour group 8).
