The shallow S-bend along the top edge of the normal wing seems designed to give the pollinators access to the anthers and stigma. The lower part of the wing forms a larger rounded lobe. The wing is held securely inside the calyx by two claws, a short thin one in line with the top edge and a thick longer one supporting the lobe.
