Lilacina is a pleasant, graceful lacecap hydrangea. In neutral and acid soil the ray florets are gently coloured lilac, as its name suggests. Their colour is soft pink in more alkaline conditions, but, whatever the soil acidity, the appearance of the flower head changes to tawny pink when the sepals invert.
