Frillibet opens new heads from June until October. Their colour slowly develops to a fairly long-lasting sky blue. The older heads gradually fade to pale violet and eventually they invert their flowers just as lacecap hydrangeas do, showing an attractive pinky mauve reverse. The sepals are reliably frilly at all stages.
